So I'm not sure when or how this started, but I'll admit it; I'm scared of Belly Buttons. Yep, belly buttons! You could say I'm grossed out, freaked out, and disgusted by them.
Maybe it's my sister's fault. She got her belly button pierced when she turned 18, and I never understood why anyone would want to decorate that sick hole in their stomach that attached them to their mom's insides. I mean after it's pierced nasty stuff pusses out of it... SICK!!!!!
Anyways... The relevance all this has is when Kohen's cord started to come loose I would gag everytime I changed him. I mean there was a string of snot holding on to his cord coming from his BELLY BUTTON! -YUCK!
That all changed 2 nights ago when I had to suck up the guts at 3 AM to pick up the sickness off his stomach and throw it away. After I got past that point, I thought it would be smooth sailing. OH HOW I WAS WRONG!! Did you know that its still crusty after that?
Well I have to report that today has been a great day! NO CRUSTY BELLY BUTTON! :) YAY!!!
Other reasons today was a good day:
Kohen was calmed down by his OU mobile! (Boomer Sooner!)
I had Jonny Carino's for the first time -yum-
Kohen has a new sling to ride in
Kohen was trying to scoot during his tummy time. He kept kicking his legs so I put my hand behind his feet and he pushed himseld forward and kept doing it over and over again. He's SO strong! :)
Grammy got to show off Kohen at school and she gave me my new charm with his name on it. :)

Two Weeks Old!
Kohen just won't stop growing! (Thank Godness!!)
On our visit to our new Pediatrician yesterday, Kohen weighed in at 7lbs 8oz.
We got a new headrest for his carseat.
The one we had just wasn't holding his head in tight enough!
He doesn't really like the fact that he can't bobble his head around now,
but it makes me more at ease when I'm driving around with him.
Our Sound little sleeper!!
Please Pray for Heather and Ellee... They were in a car accident today.
Ellee seems to be doing fine and Heather is going to be monitored to make sure
that Preslee is doing ok!

One Week Pics!
So, I know our little man will be 2 weeks tomorrow, but here is his one week
old picture taken by Uncle Kyle!

Kohen is still eating great and we go to the Doctor for a check up today!
He's sleeping really well, except he likes to wake up at about 3 or 4 in the morning and stay up for 2 or 3 hours.

Today we are going to get out to enjoy the first day of GOOD weather since he's been born!
We're meeting up with Aunt Heather (she still needs a cool name) and
Cousin Ellee to go shopping.
I'm sure I'll have more pictures of Ellee giving love to Kohen to post later today!

Oink Oink!!
We had a check up with the Doctor today to check on Kohen's jaundice. It has improved a lot and they said it should be completely gone in just a few days.
When we had a check up on Thursday our little man weighed 6lbs 10 oz. Today he weighed 7 lbs 4 oz!! He gained 10 ounces in just 5 days!! (and just think.... I was worried about him not getting enough when he nursed)
Kohen is still doing good through the night and he is (apparently) eating great. We are still battling some obstacles when it comes to eating, but nothing we can't get past. :)
He LOVES his boppy and his FAVORITE way to be held is right up on your chest where he can hear you breathe and hear your heartbeat. He also loves getting his bath (even if it is just a sponge bath!) His favorite part is when you pour the water over his head. He just gets SO peaceful.
I'll leave you with Kohen's Birth Verse;
Ephesians 1:13 NIV
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit"

So I Guess I'll Jump On Board!
So I need a place to post all the pictures and stories I am going to continue to have of my perfect little boy Kohen!
I guess I should start from the beginning.........
Kohen Timothy Hudson-Leggett decided to make his appearance during an ice storm and was born on January 13th, 2007 at 3:55p.m. He weighed 7 lbs and was 20 1/2 inches long. He had a slight case of Jaundice, but it continues to improve each and every day.
He had his first Doctor's appointment on Thursday and he weighed 6lbs 10 oz and everything checked out ok. We go back to the Dr tomorrow to check on the progress of his Jaundice. I wish I could report that it has already passed, but I can still see a little yellow in his eyes. I am anxoius to see how much he weighs since he has been eating like a little pig! We've had a few problems with nursing but that hasn't stopped him at all. Apparently he thinks Momma's only job is to be his little Milk Bar!
When we first came home from the hospital we had 2 pretty rough nights where he was waking up every 30-45 minutes. He has improved and is sleeping very well at night. He wakes up to eat and then usually falls back to sleep relatively fast! (Now that I said that tonight will probably be horrible! lol)

Today we had our first day out as a family. Derek had the day off and so we went to lunch and to the mall to shop some sales. It was nice being able to get ready and get out of the house. Kohen did really well, except for when it was time to eat. We fixed that problem and he was extremely content! I like to think he's going to be a great little shopping partner. :)
Here's some pictures from the hospital. I'll have to post his One Week picture as soon as Kyle sends them to me.

The Shirt Says it All........

Our little angel sleeping!

Ellee LOVES her cousin Kohen and likes to give him Lots of Kisses!!
